2 months agoEnjoyed having breakfast at the Black Bear for each of the days of my stay at Indian Lodge. Friendly service, plenty of options for the breakfast buffet. Fresh fruit, scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, toast, potatoes. On the weekend the scratch-made cinnamon buns were really good - not overly sweet and plenty of cinnamon. Wish the restaurant had been open for dinner as well.

3 months agoWe enjoyed lunch & returned for breakfast. The buffet was loaded with fresh & delicious food. I loved the stuffed bell peppers made with Italian sausage. The chicken alfredo was tasty as well. The mixed veggie medley was yummy but I really loved the peas & carrots. The small salad bar was well-maintained with fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumber & etc. The breakfast buffet was just as good. We enjoyed scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tators, biscuits, gravy and fresh fruit. I loved the tator cubes the most. The only thing we would change is adding more bacon grease to the gravy. Awesome service and a great value for your buck.

5 months agoCoffee strong, flavorful, Says much about the restaurant,... I wished to take my wife out to have a bite to eat,... Our "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant was not open,... So on a whim we tried the Black Bear We were pleasantly surprised ,.. The service was wonderful, Staff, Kind,... Very attentive we felt well cared for,... They do not take American Express which is no problem, as we always carry another card. And for the tip bring a little cash. We had an enjoyable time we also spoke with a local family school teacher that lives in Fort Davis and teaches. Food is a buffet style I built my own fajita,... 🌼Apparently it's the only restaurant run by the Texas park service, Well Done! My wife having been a nurse, commented on the cleanliness We will be returning (It is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays) We live on the way to the observatory so it's going to be our neighborhood restaurant.

6 months agoGot it, here it is with only commas and no dashes, still in your voice: I really enjoyed my experience at this local restaurant. The place was clean and well taken care of, which made it feel comfortable right away. The food was very good, full of flavor, and you could tell it was made with care. The staff was what stood out the most, everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome the entire time. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant and come back again. Thank you, Mr. Ray Bustamante.

The food was delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. What really stood out was the staff — everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome throughout the visit. a year ago5 star experience! Had a chance to check out the renovation and meet the new staff. This place going to be amazing once it reopens.
